Sharing usage data in Data Center
Why we collect usage data
Sharing usage data is entirely optional. Atlassian won’t gather any usage data unless you choose to participate. You can stop sharing your usage data at any point.
What’s in it for you | What’s in it for Atlassian |
---|---|
You receive customized updates to ensure product performance. | We monitor performance of our products, improving it whenever it’s possible. |
You receive more timely bugfix and security updates. | We monitor the security of your instance, establish product guardrails, and communicate our recommendations more effectively during a security incident. |
You receive features and feature updates that matter to you. | We make more informed decisions about the development of our products and prioritize features that best meet your needs. |
What we collect
The data we receive is aggregated and de-identified. We don’t collect content from within your instance.
The data we collect is metadata that describes the usage, scale, performance, configuration, or specifications of your Atlassian product instances. It also includes information about the infrastructure on which these instances operate.
Metric category | 説明 | 例 | Sharing option |
---|---|---|---|
規模 | Describes the instance size. It helps us understand how product performance is influenced by scale. |
|
|
Product performance | Describes the system performance from the end user's perspective. |
|
|
Infrastructure performance | Describes the underlying infrastructure's performance. Combined with scale metrics, it offers insights into the root causes of product performance issues. |
|
|
Instance metadata | Provides additional details about the product instance. These metrics are essential for monitoring the security of the instance and identifying dependencies between its configuration or specification and how it performs. |
|
|
Behavioral data | Describes user activity within the product and its context. |

How we govern your data
When you share your instance usage data, the product analytics will:
listen to product events
log these events to the product instance's file system
send the data to our private cloud server at midnight local time to avoid performance issues
allow events only if they’re on an allowlist. This ensures that only approved data is uploaded.
Your firewall setup ensures data can only be sent outwards. We transmit the hashed and filtered data files over HTTPS, encrypting it during transit to our servers where the data is stored.
How to ensure data sharing isn’t blocked by your firewall
We use the Amazon S3 storage for product analytics data. To prevent traffic blockages, ensure our Amazon S3 IP range is allowed through your firewall. More about finding the IP address ranges
You might also need to configure specific access for outbound connections from your instance. If so, all these connections should be HTTPS to *.atlassian.com
. If you additionally need a list of ports accessible through your firewall, see Ports used by Atlassian Applications.
