診断
- This KB is applicable when multiple projects share the permission scheme and you would like to grant permission to specific users.
ソリューション
Please find the solution to the below scenarios
Scenario 1: Assign Permissions to users Via project role to a single project.
- Say we have two users abc@xyz.com and efg@xyz.com
- Both users should have a valid Jira software license and be invited to the site.
- Login to the required project and check if the project permission scheme is not shared by multiple projects. Please find the video below on how to do so:
- If multiple projects share the permission scheme, the users can be assigned project roles with those projects and then given Permission. Please find the video on how to do so.
- Assign users Project Role
- Assign the project role to the permission scheme
- To be able to assign issues to this role, kindly make sure to give the project roles "Browse Projects" and "Assignable User" Permission. Browse permission is the ability to browse projects and the issues within them and Assignable User with this permission may be assigned to issues.
- To permit to creation of issues in this role, kindly make sure to give the project roles "Browse Projects" and "Create Issues" Permission. Browse permission is the ability to browse projects and the issues within them and Create Issues permission is the ability to create issues.
- Please also make sure to check that project permission to not given to Application access (Any logged in user). If this is assigned to any role, it would mean that any user part of your instance can perform the action
- A quick check here will also be that the permission who is assigning users this permission has "Administer Projects" and "Browse Projects" as well.
Scenario 2: Assign Permissions to users Via project permission scheme to a single project.
- Say we have two users abc@xyz.com and efg@xyz.com
- Both users should have a valid Jira software license and be invited to the site.
- The admins can create a group "user" in the user management
- Add both the users to the group
- Login to the required project and check if the project permission scheme is not shared by multiple projects. Please find the video below on how to do so:
6. If the permission scheme is shared by multiple projects, then making changes in the project will affect all the other projects and external/internal users will be able to see all the projects. Please find the video on how to separate the permission scheme and to make sure that users are part of the project that needs them to assign the issue
7. To Assign issues to this role, kindly make sure to give the user groups "Browse Projects" and "Assignable User" Permission. Browse permission is the ability to browse projects and the issues within them and Assignable User with this permission may be assigned to issues.
8. To permit to creation of issues in this role, kindly make sure to give the user groups "Browse Projects" and "Create Issues" Permission. Browse permission is the ability to browse projects and the issues within them and Create Issues permission is the ability to create issues.
9. Please also make sure to check that project permission to not given to Application access (Any logged in user). If this is assigned to any role, it would mean that any user is part of your instance can perform the action
10. A quick check here will also be that the permission who is assigning users this permission has "Administer Projects" and "Browse Projects" as well.
