Configuring a Rapid Board allows you to edit the mapping of JIRA workflow statuses to columns of a Rapid Board, as well as edit the columns, swimlanes, filter and quick filters of a Rapid Board.

(info) Note that only the owner of a Rapid Board can modify its configuration.

Accessing a Rapid Board's Configuration

To configure a Rapid Board:

  1. Click Agile > Manage Rapid Boards in the top navigation bar.
  2. The 'Manage Rapid Boards' screen will be displayed (see Screenshot 1 below). Click the 'Configure' link corresponding to the Rapid Board of interest.
  3. The 'Rapid Board Configuration' screen will be displayed (see Screenshot 2 below)

(tick) Alternatively, to quickly get to the Configuration screen for the Rapid Board you are currently viewing, simply click the 'cog' icon at the top-right of the screen and select 'Configure' from the drop-down.

Renaming a Rapid Board

To change the name of your Rapid Board:

  1. Access the Rapid Board Configuration for your Rapid Board (see above).
  2. Click the 'pencil' icon (which will appear when you hover) to edit the name of your Rapid Board. Press the 'Enter' key when finished.

Changing a Rapid Board's Owner

A Rapid Board's owner is the only person who can change the configuration of a Rapid Board. By default, the owner of a Rapid Board is the person who created it. If you are the owner, or an administrator, you can change the owner of a Rapid Board.

To change the owner of your Rapid Board:

  1. Access the Rapid Board Configuration for your Rapid Board (see above).
  2. Click the 'pencil' icon (which will appear when you hover) to edit the owner of your Rapid Board. Press the 'Enter' key when finished.

Sharing a Rapid Board

A Rapid Board is available to all users who can view the saved filter on which the Rapid Board is based. If you wish to share a Rapid Board with different people, you will need to edit the saved filter (see the JIRA documentation on issue filters).

Note that only the owner of the Rapid Board or an Administrator may modify a Rapid Board's configuration.
