You can easily create new JIRA issues (including sub-tasks) in GreenHopper Classic, from the Planning Board, Task Board or Chart Board.
To create a new issue in GreenHopper GreenHopper Classic,
- Log into JIRA.
- Navigate to either the Planning Board, Task Board or Chart Board:
Select Agile > Classic in the top navigation bar. Then select Classic Planning Board from the drop-down below the project name.
またはSelect Agile > Classic in the top navigation bar. Then select Classic Task Board from the drop-down below the project name.
またはSelect Agile > Classic in the top navigation bar. Then select Classic Chart Board from the drop-down below the project name.
- Select your project from the project dropdown in the top navigation bar, if it is not already selected.
- Create a new issue or sub-taskas follows:
- (new issue) Click the 'New card' button in the top navigation bar.
Tip: Alternatively, on the Planning Board or Task Board you can simply click the appropriate Issue Type in the legend at the top of the screen. (If the legend is not visible, select 'Legend' from the 'Tools' menu.) - (new sub-task) Locate the card for the issue for which you want to create a sub-task. Click the
icon (which will appear when you hover over the Issue Type or Priority icons) and select 'Add Sub-task' from the drop-down menu. (Note that this will only be available if your administrator has enabled sub-tasks within JIRA.)
- The create new issue/sub-task window will display (see screenshot below).
- Fill out the form (this is similar to creating a new issue directly in JIRA). Please note: if you are creating a new sub-task, the only Issue Types that you will be able to select are sub-issue types such as 'Sub-Task'.
- Click the Create button to create the issue/sub-task and keep the create new issue window open (to create another issue), or click the Create and close button to create the issue/sub-task and return to your board to view the new issue.
Administrator's Tip: You can prevent issues from being created in a particular GreenHopper project by unchecking the 'Card Creation' option in the relevant project's settings. See Configuring your General Project Settings for more information.

Feb 09, 2012Hi - is it possible to attach/upload supporting docs for a task?
thanks
Nicholas Muldoon [Atlassian]
Feb 09, 2012Yes, GreenHopper allows you to attach supporting documents to an issue. For example, once you have created an issue you can use the '.' keyboard shortcut and then select the 'Attach a file' option.
Alternatively, you can click on the issue key (e.g. GHS-123) and be taken to the JIRA View Issue page where you will have a full listing of all attachments on an issue.
Thanks,
Nicholas

Feb 13, 2012Is it possible to enable the description field in this sub task create from card? The standard config and the screenshot you have provided only leave rooto add the summary. If this is possible, where would I go as project admin to enable that field in this create subtask from card window?

Feb 14, 2012Edited (was typing on phone): Is it possible to enable the description field in this 'create subtask from card' modal window (the one pictured in the screenshot above)? The standard config and the screenshot you have provided appear to only leave room to add the summary. If this is possible, where would I go as project admin to enable that field?

Mar 02, 2012Pretty sure Greenhopper just picks up the fields from the matching card definition for a given issue type. So if you want Description to show up (which I do, for all task types), add that field to the Card style via Tools > Configuration > Card Styles.

May 11, 2012Is there a way to "migrate" an existing JIRA issue into GreenHopper? Or does one have to create a GreenHopper issue and then link the two?
Nicholas Muldoon [Atlassian]
May 11, 2012Hello,
GreenHopper and JIRA issues are one in the same. For example, if you create an issue via GreenHopper it will also be available in a search on the Issue Navigator.
Thanks,
Nicholas

Sept 17, 2012We have added few custom fields from JIRA and they have been made as required in the screens that we want them to appear and it works fine. The issue is in the new card dialog they appear as well and they are made required in this dialog as well. Is there a way to drop these fields from the new card dialog ?
