The token seed is no longer used, and was removed from the user interface in Crowd 2.6.2. The token seed has not been used for application authentication since Crowd 1.5 and since 2.6.1 it is no longer used as a salt in password encoding.
To specify the token seed,
- Log in to the Crowd Administration Console.
- Click the 'Administration' tab in the top navigation bar.
- The 'General Options' screen will appear. Now you can either:
- Type the new key into the 'Token Seed' field, then click the 'Update' button.
OR - Click the 'Generate' button to create a random key automatically.
- Type the new key into the 'Token Seed' field, then click the 'Update' button.
