Working with External User Repositories

Bamboo provides you with a number of options for user management:

• Manage users and groups in Bamboo
• Connect to Atlassian's Crowd as a user directory manager for Bamboo
• Connect Bamboo to external user directories (e.g. on an LDAP server)

Choosing a Method for User Management

To choose a method for user management in Bamboo:

1. Navigate to 'Administration' > 'User Management' ('Security' section).
2. Choose one of the user management options:
   • 'Local users and groups' — Choose this option to manage your users and groups in Bamboo.
   • 'Users and groups from JIRA or Crowd' — Choose this option to manage your users and groups using Atlassian's Crowd.

   • 'Custom user repository' — Choose this option to manage your users and groups via an LDAP server or a custom repository.

3. Click 'Save'
