You need permission to edit a news item. See Space permissions for more information.

You can edit a news item in the same way you would edit any other page in Confluence.

However, there are a few differences you need to keep in mind while editing a news item:

  • You cannot change the title of a news item.
  • You cannot move a news item to another space.
  • A news item has no parent.

To edit a news item,

  1. Click on the 'Browse Space' link for the space. This is located at the top of every page and beside the space link on the dashboard.

  2. Go to the 'News' tab. A list of the most recent news items within the space is presented. A calendar allows you to browse other news items. Locate the news item you wish to edit and click on its title. This will open up the news item.

  3. Click on the 'Edit' tab. This will bring up the 'Edit' screen. Make changes to the page as you would in any Confluence page.

  4. 'Preview' your changes if desired, and click 'Update'.
