Confluence allows you to partition your site into 'spaces' so you can categorise and organise content on your site based on any theme or criteria of your choice.
For example, you may want separate areas on your site for each team or project within your organisation. Spaces allow you to build content for each team or project separately, decide who its users are, and even set up individual mail for each.
Confluence treats each space as an independently managed wiki. What this means is that each space functions autonomously within your site.
There is no limit to the number of spaces you can create within Confluence!
Each space:
- has its own access control settings, so you can set different levels of access to different spaces.
- has its own mail, reports, and RSS feeds to track new or modified pages, and new comments.
- can be separately exported to PDF.
You can view all the spaces within a site via the dashboard. Click on the logo beside the page title to go to the dashboard.
