A space is an area allocated within your site for the grouping of various content types (pages, news, attachments, etc) based on a common theme. In other words, it is an independently managed Wiki within your site.

Using Confluence, it is easy to partition your site to cover as many different groups of people or topics as you like. For example, each team in your company can have its own space within your site. There is no limit to the number of spaces you can create with Confluence!

Users can easily view all the spaces within a site via the dashboard.

Screen 1 : Example of a list of Spaces as they appear on a dashboard

Each space

  • has its own access control settings, so users can be given different levels of access to different spaces
  • has its own reports and RSS newsfeeds to track new and modified pages, and new comments (NEED EXPLANATION)
  • can be separately exported to PDF
