Jira users are not able to change the reporter of an issue even if they are granted the Modify Reporter permissions on the project.

Normally, there should be an edit/pencil button showing when hovering over the Reporter field, as shown in the screenshot below:

Jira Server/Data Center (any version), Jira Cloud

診断

  • The User has the "Modify Reporter" permission based on the project permission scheme, configured in Project Settings > Permissions, which can be verified by using the Permission Helper tool (by entering g+g from the issue view screen, and searching for "Permission Helper":
  • The Edit issue screen for the impacted Issue Type does not contain the Reporter field. To check the fields which are associated to this screen:
    • Go to Project Settings > Screens for the project that the issue belongs to
    • Locate the screen which is associated to the type of the impacted Jira issue, and the "Edit Issue" action:
    • After you click on that screen, if you see that the Reporter field is not listed, then this KB article applies and you can move on to the Solution section:
    • (warning) Note that the screenshots below were taken from a Jira Server / Data Center instance. For Jira Cloud, the menus and links might be slightly different.

原因

The Jira "View issue" screen uses the "Edit issue" screen configuration to make fields available for inline edits. If a field is not present on the "Edit issue" screen configuration then the field will not be available for inline edit even when the user has the right permissions to edit the field.

Add the "Reporter" field on the "Edit issue" screen configuration.
