Link rendering lets you create links to issues or pages in the project or space using a simple textual reference, e.g. [JRA-1234], [Test Page]. This feature is bundled with the application links plugin. Follow the instructions below to enable link rendering.

Dec 14, 2011It would be very helpful if this were made note of more prominently within Jira or Confluence itself. As it is there is verbiage in the application link screen that makes it seem like you can just add links between the linked Jira project and confluence space without needing to do anything other than establish the links.
Here is exactly what it says in the Application links configuration screen in Jira:
"You can configure links between this Project and Projects, Spaces, etc. in other applications. There must already be an application link configured to the other application. These are set up by your System Administrator."
No mention of needing to install a separate plugin in order to enable this. The only way I was able to find the required plugin was through opening a ticket with Atlassian and waiting 36 hours.
Even on this page there is no mention of the plugin that you now have to install in order for this to work.
