One of the ways you might use application links is to link JIRA Cloud to FishEye Server. Linking JIRA to FishEye lets you take advantage of integration points between the two applications (for example, so your team can see JIRA issue keys in commit messages and see FishEye changesets in JIRA).

Even though this tutorial walks you through the process of linking JIRA Cloud and FishEye Server, you can use these steps to link any cloud application to server products. An application link can serve as the basis for many different types of integration between applications.

• Since different applications can use different versions of the Application Links tool, the process for creating an application link can vary depending on the version of the product that you're using. This tutorial assumes that you're using versions of JIRA Cloud and FishEye that are compatible with the 4.0 version of Applinks. If you use older versions of these products, you can still use this process; the software will guide you through how you need to modify the procedure for those versions.
• FishEye must be accessible through port 80 or 443 to connect with JIRA Cloud. If it runs on port 443, you must be using a valid SSL certificate (not self-signed).
• Make sure that the Base URL is set correctly in FishEye. See FishEye instructions.
• Also, make sure that you're the admin on both JIRA Cloud and FishEye.

In this step, we'll connect JIRA and FishEye with an application link. 

1. In JIRA Cloud, choose the cog icon and select Add-ons.
2. Select the Manage Add-ons link – the "Manage Add-ons" page lists all the add-ons you have installed on your service.
3. Select Application Links in the left panel. 
4. In the Application box, enter the URL of the FishEye server (for example https://chocs.example.com/fisheye), then select Create new link.
5. The wizard will take you through the rest of the process of creating the link. Then you'll have a completed application link!
