Use Oracle with thin Oracle JDBC drivers

• Whether you are using Oracle 10g or 11g, you should use the JDBC driver that's mentioned here.
• We highly recommend to use the thin drivers.

Running against Tomcat 6.0.27 and above.

• There exists an issue where the bundled DBCP (database pool) libraries in Tomcat were updated causing ClassCastExceptions (LOB) during Confluence setup stages. Confluence 3.4 (and above) resolves this issue.
