原因
Root Cause 1
This root cause only applies to the situation where Jira is on versions between 9.4.0 and 9.16.x, and A4J is on 9.2.1.
A4J 9.2.1 was originally compatible with Jira Data Center 9.4.0 - 9.17.4. However, it was found later that this A4J version was impacted by the bug below and that the bug only manifested on Jira 9.16.x and lower versions:

Because of this bug:
- The A4J listing on the Atlassian Marketplace was updated to only make A4J only compatible with Jira 9.17.0 and higher versions.
- As a result, the A4J app started to show as "incompatible" in the ⚙ > Manage Apps > Manage Apps page for Jira versions lower than 9.17.0, since this page assesses the A4J compatibility based on its listing on the Marketplace
Root Cause 2
This root cause only applies to the situation where both Jira and A4J are on any version 10.x.
This error is caused by the bug listed below:

What happened is the following:
- From 10.x, A4J jar files are no longer added the A4J Listing on the Marketplace, as mentioned in Jira Data Center automation release notes
- Since the UPM (Universal Plugin Manager) app queries the Atlassian Marketplace to determine if an app is compatible with Jira, and since new A4J versions are no longer listed there, the UPM incorrectly shows the "incompatible" error (which has been reported in the bug linked above)

Solution For Root Cause 1
- Go to the page ⚙ > Manage Apps > Manage Apps
- Look for the Automation For Jira app
- Upgrade it to the latest version available on the Marketplace (9.2.2)
Solution For Root Cause 2
There is currently no workaround to fix this error. However, it can be safely ignored, since A4J 10.x versions are in fact compatible with the respective Jira 10.x versions.
