Please make a backup of your Discovery folder to be on a save side if something happens during the update process.
To update Discovery (incl. Collector) perform the following steps:
- copy the new package (e.g. Discovery_x.x.x.zip) to the "update" folder to your Discovery folder on your system
- run the
update.exeat the Discovery-Folder
You need to choose if you want to update your ObjectHashSettings.xml file (default is "No")
- If you didn't have made any changes to your ObjectHashSettings.xml file you should choose "Yes" to get updates (that doesn't happens often)
- If you had made changes you should use "No" and merge the settings manually.
The update process automatically stops the running Discovery or Collector Service(s) when running.*
Your existing configuration will be saved and restored after the update.
After the update the Service(s) that has been stopped for the update process will be restarted.
If you are using the Discovery or Collector Tool on a Linux Environment please make sure that you have stopped configured cron tasks before updating
