症状

Installing or upgrading JIRA in a Linux environment fails.

console output に次のメッセージが表示される。

Could not display the GUI. This application needs access to an X Server.

原因

This error occurs when a 32 bit version of JIRA is installed in a 64 bit OS environment.

ソリューション

Please go to www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download and download the 64 bit version for your environment and retry the installation.
