Open Source Software Included in JIRA
We know that many customers are interested in knowing the specific open source components that are included in the software that they use.
Since JIRA 6.0 an inventory of the open source software included in JIRA and their associated licenses is accessible in the distribution located in the
licenses
directory of your
.
The following general statements apply:
A vast majority of the open source components included in JIRA are covered under the MIT, BSD, or Apache licenses.
Most of the other open source licenses are also well known, such as the Mozilla Public License, Common Public License, Common Development and Distribution License, and Eclipse Public License.
If you use JIRA internally, none of the licenses that cover the open source components in JIRA would impose any obligations on you. This is because obligations under open source licenses are triggered by distribution, not use.
