問題
When a user upgrades Jira, old plugins could lead to Jira failing to work as expected and make it throw errors related to 'LicenseReceiptValidator'
The following appears in the atlassian-jira.log

The above error is likely caused by incompatible plugins after the upgrade. Certain plugins related to license management in Jira break hence it will keep throwing invalid plugin.
Resolution 1
- Move the plugin folder found in JIRA HOME and the SHARED HOME (if running on multiple nodes) out of the location so that Jira can recreate all system plugins upon restart to fix the issue.

- Before upgrading Jira, check plugin compatibility with the version you want to upgrade to as described here.
- Upgrade all plugins that are incompatible or remove them before performing the upgrade.
- Removing the plugin would not remove the data and you can install a compatible version after the upgrade.
- Upgrade your Jira instance.
- Re-install the removed plugins.
