This page explains the step by step on the mobile client usage which includes logging into your Hipchat Server account and creating a room.

iOS

1. Tap on Log in to Hipchat Server
   
2. Enter the hostname and domain of the Hipchat Server instance. Enable Require certificate validation if you are using a trusted CA signed SSL certificate. Else, disable it if you are using a self signed certificate
   
3. Enter your email address and password and tap on Log in
   
4. You will be presented with the following screen. Tap on the  to create a room
   
5. Enter the room name, room topic, and choose the room access (private vs public)
   
6. Room gets created as per the following screen shot
   
7. Send your message and it will appear on the chat history
   
   

Android

1. Tap on Hipchat Server and BEGIN
   
2. Enter the hostname and domain of your Hipchat Server group. Enable Require certificate validation if you are using a trusted CA signed SSL certificate. Else, disable it if you are using a self signed certificate
   
3. Enter your email address and password
   
4. You will be presented with the following screen
   
5. Tap on the  button to either create a room or join a chat
   
6. Enter the room name, room topic, and choose the room access (private vs public)
   
7. You can invite new users or skip the step
   
8. Send your message and it will appear on the chat history
