Unable to add RSS Feed in Chrome
Platform Notice: Data Center Only - This article only applies to Atlassian products on the Data Center platform.
Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Symptoms
Attempting to add a RSS feed in Chrome does not work, returning only XML as per the below screenshot.
No error appears in the atlassian-jira.log as this is a browser-specific issue.
Cause
The Chrome browser does not have native support for RSS, as detailed in this Chromium feature request - Chromium is the open-source browser that Chrome is based on.
Workaround
Install the RSS Subscription Extension plugin into Chrome.
ℹ️ As Chrome is a third-party platform, Atlassian Support is not able to provide any support for installing or configuring the browser.
