エピックは多くの作業量を必要とします。エピックは基本的に大きなユーザーストーリーで、いくつかの小さなストーリーに分割できます。1 つのエピックを完了するのに、数個のスプリントが必要になる場合があります。 

In GreenHopper, an epic is simply an issue of type "Epic", which has a name (e.g. "My Epic") with which other issues can be associated (linked).

新しいエピックを作成する手順は、次のとおりです：

  1. JIRAにログインします。

  2. 上部ナビゲーションバーで Agile リンクの下矢印をクリックし、表示されるドロップダウンメニューから目的のボードを選択します。

  3. ボードが表示されます。計画をクリックします。
  4. 画面左にエピックパネルが表示されない場合は、ツール > エピック パネルの表示を選択します。
  5. Click the Create icon (the "+" sign) at the top right of the Epics panel (see Screenshot 1).
  6. You will be prompted to create an issue of type "Epic" (see Screenshot 2).

  7. エピック名フィールドに短い名前を入力します。エピックを特定し、エピックに所属する課題をラベル付けするために、（概要ではなく）エピック名が使用されます。
  8. 新しいエピックが、ボードのエピックパネルに追加されます。
