Unable to View Spaces After Upgrading

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Symptoms
After upgrading Confluence to a version 5.1.x, spaces do not appear when clicking on the Spaces button on the dashboard.
Nothing relevant appears on the logs.
Cause
After upgrading a reindex from scratch is needed. Also, since Confluence 5 has a different layout regarding Confluence 4, all the customizations must be removed.
Resolution
First Rebuild the Content Indices from Scratch. Do not forget to perform the manual re-indexing.
If the issue persists remove all possible customizations on Confluence, since they can interfering on the page where Spaces are shown.
Customizations are under Look and Feel section, on Confluence Administrator panel. You can check for customizations also on the DECORATOR table, on Confluence database.
ℹ️ Perform a database backup before making any changes on your database side.
