Dates in Confluence are wrong

Symptoms
Confluence displays wrong dates for general events including page creation dates, history and comments.
Cause
Formatting and International Settings is wrongly set.
In the following example mm represents minutes so dates will be displayed in years-minutes-days resulting in 2015-54-17

Date Format yyyy-mm-ddSolution
Go to General Configuration section and under Formatting and International Settings set the correct Date format.
For Numeric Month use: MM
Default formats are:
