Symptoms

The server time on Confluence is inaccurate.

Cause

Confluence pulls server time off of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), which usually reads from server time. It is possible that the JVM is set to the wrong zone or if just 1 hour off, it's possible that your Java implementation has the wrong DST start/end dates.

Resolution

Among the know

  1. Check the time at your OS server level.

    • The JVM relays on the system time to set its own time.

  2. There is a bug in Java relating to linux that can cause the time to be off:

  3. Check the DST (Daylight Saving Time) information (if you are in a country that has DST).
