Confluence constantly using audio output

Problem

There is no sound to hear, but Safari shows the loudspeaker icon on every page that is viewed, to signal that there is an audio output.

Diagnosis

Environment

  • Confluence running on Safari. (Issue was not replicable in Chrome, Firefox or IE)

Diagnostic Steps

Cause

Chat for Confluence Plugin was installed and html class attribute js audio was added into every page.

Solution

Resolution

Temporarily disable the Chat for Confluence. OR, remove the plugin completely if it's not in used anymore.
