At the moment, Portfolio for JIRA doesn’t have a direct solution for kanban – but there’s a simple workaround! We have a team configuration for kanban, and while this is suitable to plan your kanban team’s roadmap, it isn’t faithful to the kanban practice. So we’ve put together this workaround so you can calculate roadmaps for your kanban team. Note that you need to sacrifice a certain long-term planning for delivery of high-quality software, for any agile process (particularly Kanban).

While Portfolio for JIRA suits for adjusting your roadmap and to allow new scenarios and changes, it’s up to your best judgment to balance roadmap commitments with what you know you can perform. Decide over time your highest value goals and what you’re pushing for, inform Portfolio of any revisions, and visualize changes in your plan’s roadmap.
