Personas help you learn about your customers so you can gain empathy and insight into the problems they face when using your product. As you expand to different markets, developing and maintaining a library of different personas can help you grounded in the needs and goals of your target audience.
Use the persona template to compile useful information on your customers. Create fleshed out profiles complete with demographic information as well as goals, motivators, and challenges for a variety of customer archetypes, then use them to boost empathy, define use cases, and inform strategy for your product or organization.
To create a persona:
- Tap on the sidebar.
- Select Persona, then tap Next.
- Tap Create and fill in your persona.
- Tap Publish.
How to use personas
Use personas to gain a better understanding of your customers. As you read about them, try to put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself how you would feel at different stages along key user journeys.
Define use cases
Create multiple personas to differentiate customers in a variety of job roles, industries, and demographic groupings. That information can help you characterize how different customers use your product so you can identify and prioritize your most important use cases.
Refer to personas as you develop new products, features, and campaigns. Use the information you've compiled on customers goals and pain points to drive strategy and figure out the right problems to solve in the upcoming quarter or year.
Personas are created from a blueprint template, which means they come bundled with Confluence and are available across your whole site. Blueprint templates can be customized for each space, and the site admin can even change the default blueprint template for your whole site. To learn more about customizing blueprint templates or creating your own templates, see Blueprints and user-created templates.
