Unable to launch Bitbucket Server (no Spring WebApplicationContext is available)

Symptoms

Unable to start Bitbucket Server instance.

When trying to access Bitbucket Server, the following appears in the atlassian-bitbucket.log:

Cause

MySQL Error 28 means that the database server ran out of disk space or no space left to work in its tmp directory for Linux.

Resolution

  1. Stop Bitbucket Server

  2. Increase the disk space on the database server

  3. Restart Bitbucket Server
