問題

After some undetermined period of time, the Bamboo Wallboard is replaced with a page displaying the "There are no errors at present. Return to dashboard." message:

The <bamboo-home-directory>/logs/atlassian-bamboo.log file only displays the following information:

2016-05-03 21:00:02,519 INFO [http-apr-8085-exec-26] [AccessLogFilter] bamboo-user GET http://bamboo-base-url:8085/error/errorEvents.action 12970kb
2016-05-03 21:00:05,316 INFO [http-apr-8085-exec-53] [AccessLogFilter] bamboo-user GET http://bamboo-base-url:8085/error/errorEvents.action 175645kb

診断

During the Bamboo backup process, the server is paused, and the Bamboo Wallboard times out (it becomes inaccessible while Bamboo is backing up), and we see the error messages mentioned in the description. However, when Bamboo resumes operation, the Wallboard should be automatically refreshed to start displaying the information again.

Diagnostic Steps

  • Check if you're using the Scheduled backups feature at "Bamboo administration >> Scheduled backups".
  • Check if you have to log back into Bamboo when you click the "Return to dashboard" link to ensure the user is not losing the session.
  • Try to reproduce the problem with the same user using different web browsers.
  • Try to reproduce the problem with a different user using the same web browser where the problem is observed.

原因

The problem seems to be caused by some extensions installed on the web browser. If you are not able to reproduce the problem with the same user in a different web browser, that should confirm your suspicion.

To confirm this theory you can also perform the same test using the web browser's Incognito mode. Extensions do not work when you use the Incognito feature. The web browser disables them because it does not control how these extensions handle your personal data when your search the Internet. While in Incognito mode, none of your browsing history is recorded, and no cookies are stored. This should help you understand if there's any extension in the web browser that's getting in the way.

ソリューション

There are three ways of solving this problem.

1. Trial & Error

Trial and error is a fundamental method of solving problems. You can try to test this by disabling all the extensions and enabling them one-by-one in the web browser to see which one will break the communication. You can start by the extensions that you've recently installed or the ones that you remember you didn't have before this problem started happening.

2. Incognito Mode

You can also keep using the Incognito mode feature of the web browser to avoid this problem. A wallboard is usually set up in a monitor where everyone can see and keep progress of things, so it's most likely that you'll just have to open a new Incognito mode window, log into Bamboo to display the Wallboard and leave it alone.

3. Web Browser

You can always switch to using another web browser. If you don't have time or just don't want to go through the trial & error method, you can try another web browser (that will probably not have the same extensions installed).
