Updated logging for debugging

We've made some updates to debug logging. We’ve added new messages that will give you some insight into how Assets Discovery is functioning in your environment. So, you’ll now have more freedom to debug and solve minor issues with Assets Discovery and the Collector. 

Improved security

We’ve made security improvements that will make your data in Assets Discovery more secure than ever before. The changes we’ve made won’t affect the way you interact with the app, so, after you upgrade, there’s no need to take any further action.

Enhanced pattern experience

To make sure that your scan results are complete, we’ve made patterns that extract hostnames enabled by default. With this improvement, we’re aiming to help you avoid situations where patterns are skipped because hostnames haven’t been extracted. However, if you decide that you don’t want to execute these patterns, you can still disable them in the Pattern tab of Discovery settings.

More detailed statuses when testing connections

You’ll now see more details on the status of your connection when you’re testing it. Instead of just knowing if the connection was successful or not, you’ll now be informed if your credentials are incorrect, if you don’t have permission to access the IP address you’re testing, or if the IP address or port aren’t reachable.
